1001 Albums Summary

Two great songs, the big ones. The others seem too "out there" for me. Just don't hold up. Maybe they lack an interesting tune, like so many of my Doors favorites. Maybe too much of Jim-poetry indulgence without the sheer rock/blues force of the hits. For context I love "The End", I think cause you get a great performance too.

Boy, I like Lou Reed - I even saw Heart of a Dog because it was about Lou and Laurie Anderson's dog - and I couldn't enjoy this album. Maybe the poetry was just too deep and I was not focused enough. Or it was because the music seemed so dull? I'd say stick with Blue Mask, Transformer, and anything Velvet Underground. ....But then again I guess it deserves another listen, maybe a dark room with headphones.
