The Doors
The DoorsIt is a classic. I was surprised how many of the songs I recognized...not just the big two singles. Twentieth Century Fox was a fun find.

I've heard this...I don't know how many times. Her songwriting is absolutely fantastic. She is a treasure! I could sing most of the songs, the rest were so familiar. One of the most consistent albums sonically and yet it is full of creativity.
I was unaware they wrote \"The Drugs Don't Work\" - I thought it was Ben Harper. Wow. A beautiful, devastating song. It is emblematic of British Arena rock.
I liked the later Jam music better, and Paul Weller's Style Council even better. You can hear the guitar and bass/drum syncopation that influenced new wave and pop in the 90's. Also you can hear how the Kinks influenced them.
I had never heard of this guy before. Love the mando, sax, Rhodes keys on various songs. Very Nick Drake-y when just acoustic. All the improv and jazzy stuff. Wow. Can tell he had drugs central to his life. So glad this one turned up!
This music does not fit for me. I respect their reputation. Do not enjoy it.
The deep, warm analog sound with his slightly scratchy beautiful voice. Great album. Solid.
So so good. ONe of my favorites! This, and Freedom 90, underscores how a sugar pop group - Wham! - didn't show the true talent.
Wow! Amazing rhythms. The energy! Not something I'd listen to every day, but wow.
Not my cup of tea. I can hear the girl punk and how the Go-Go's picked up on it in the US.
Stunning. So sad she died so young. Her voice and spirit - as well as musicality - was amazing.
