1001 Albums Summary

Meh... Don't understand what makes it great. I only liked about 1 or 2 songs. And even those we just okay. Not mind blowing. The phone/conversation bits are a bit too much and they're all over the album. I couldn't find enough hooks on this album. Highlights: - Backseat Freestyle -Swimming Pools (Drank) -Compton

Has an overall positive, "Let's go!" vibe to it. I had already heard Mamunia before. It's an absolutely beautiful song. The rest of the album is fun and you can tell everyone had fun working on it. There's no doubt that Paul McCartney is a genius and I wasn't at all surprised by how impressive musically it is. some of the songs I enjoyed (aside from Mamunia) were: Bluebird, Let Me Roll It, Nineteen Hundred Eighty Five. I've always been a massive Paul McCartney fan and I'm glad I had the opportunity to listen to this album. It was 41 minutes long, but it felt like 15 minutes. Good times pass quickly, I guess.

Pretty good album. Even though it's not exactly my cup of tea, I can understand what makes it great. I can appreciate the amount of work put into it and you can hear how much was poured into this album. Some of the highlights for me were: "Razor Face", "Holiday Inn" and the title track. My only criticism of it is that a lot of it feels the same. Kind of like one song that drags on and on. There wasn't much variation in beat and BPM, and the production was almost exactly similar on every song which made it somewhat boring for me. The good thing about listening to this album is that now I can totally hear the link between Elton John and the songs on The Lion King.

First time hearing it. Definitely a great album. It's crazy how much it got referenced and sampled since. It's mind blowing how culturally important this album is. It shaped so much of the popular music that came after it. I found it very entertaining. I had a smile on my face the whole time. It has a lot of attitude. I had already heard "Tricky" before and I like it. But some of the other songs I also enjoyed are "Walk This Way", "You Be Illin" and the drums on "Perfection".
