The Next Day
David Bowie
Really enjoyable all the way through, not a single song that I would consider to be a dud. I love the instrumentals and feel like there's a lot to appreciate in the lyrics, and that I'll just keep finding more to like the more that I listen. Will definitely add this to my library and try to revisit in the future.
Might regret not giving this a 5, but given this is my first album of this challenge, as well as my first Bowie album ever, I know both probably have a lot of incredible music to offer and I don't want to jump the gun and hand out a perfect score too early!

Green Day
I already really love American Idiot, but hadn't heard another Green Day album before. Pop punk is generally very hit or miss for me, and I can definitely see how significant Green Day are to this genre. Ultimately as a whole album this ended feeling a bit samey to me. There was nothing bad though and I feel like I could come to appreciate individual songs the more i listened to them, but I don't know if I would sit through the whole album front to back again.

Really funky, I had a lot of fun listening and liked the themes explored and how reflective they were of the time - and how relevant they sometimes still feel today! Only criticism is that some of the songs overstay their welcome a bit.

The xx
Oh my god, this took me back to 2014 when I couldn't scroll 5 posts down my Tumblr dashboard before seeing that "X" logo. But seriously, this is a beautiful album, that intro alone is iconic. I feel of all the "Tumblr-core" music, The xx and their impact goes a bit unappreciated at times but there's no doubt their impact was pretty huge.
