1001 Albums Summary

A solid disco/soul album with a handful of memorable bangers, I've obviously heard the title track before (who hasn't), so I had an idea of what sort of thing was in store for me. I wasn't too keen on the slower songs although they weren't awful, but overall the album made for a really easy listening experience and a good intro into the 1001 albums I should hear before I die. Favourite songs: He's the Greatest Dancer, Lost in Music, One More Time

Weird one this. I went into this with high hopes, I'm a fan of prog-rock and i've heard a handful of Yes songs in the past and enjoyed them all, however this didn't really do it for me. The album is bookended by two great tracks, both very enjoyable despite their lengthy runtime, however I am not too impressed by the rest, and much of it feels a bit all over the place without any proper coherence, although this is definitely a characteristic of progressive rock records. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed by this one, but I can certainly appreciate it for what it is, it just simply isn't for me. Favourite songs: Roundabout, Heart of the Sunrise
