1001 Albums Summary

- Out of tune singing and nonsense words are really rad. Love the emotion - Guitar riffs clearly has it's influence still today hearing from songs like - Penetration on the current rock and indie sounds - Drums are driving, wish I could hear a little more cymbal - Not a huge fan of a few of the guitar solos but some are really sick - I Need Somebody is a good song but feels slightly out of place, can't tell if I like the juxtaposition. Riffs are really awesome though so I'm leaning on I like it. The off beat entrances before the beat and the arpeggiated riffs on the guitar are nice - Shake Appeal riff is not my cup of tea - Death Trip as well not really my vibe at the beginning. Feels a bit messy and lacks the chaotic but catchy quality of the rest of the album. As the track develops it gets a little better as the energy picks up. I dig some of his shouting vocals on this. Feels like proto metal screaming vocals

Feels like it had a lot of good ideas and then overstayed it's welcome by an hour fifteen at least. Production is rad especially for it's time but maybe I just wasn't stoned enough to appreciate things like pretty much the same drum break for 20 minutes on the opening track

Generous 3 stars for me. Lots to like here but wasn't a lot to love. Found I enjoyed the songs while they happened but nothing really stood out to me and I quickly forgot the song that came before it completely. Enjoyable listen and maybe needs a revisit but didn't really grab me the way I thought it might
