So i did a thing where you get one album off a 1001 "albums you have to listen before you die" list thing, and this one was my first one. Immediately after I looked at the name of the band and the genre I knew it was going to be a rough start but surprisingly enough, I really really FUCKING LOVED THIS RECORD. I really need to stop having judgements about hard rock/metal because just like with master of puppets, another album I thought I wouldn't like, I always get very pleasantly surprised. This album deserves all the praise in the World just based on the lyrics alone, they are so real and such a breath of fresh air. Here what you see is what you get, no sugarcoating. LOVED the guitar riffs, LOVED the vocals, LOVED the energy of every single band member. I loved how they were not afraid to slow in down in some songs and show variety, showcasing just how great they can sound in different genres, while also maintaining the autenticity in the lyrics and their esence in their energy and performance. I'd say maybe I thought one or two songs could've been cut shorter and I did not enjoy St. Vitus' Dance as much but apart from that this is just an amazing piece of art. Like I'm actually in awe of how good this is. What this album has taught me is that I really need to stop thinking a record is not for me just because it's something I'm not accustomed to, like I do not consider myself a rock or metal fan but fck this was amazing and I will definitely be overplaying it until I get tired of it in the coming weeks. FAV TRACK: Tomorrow's Dream LEAST FAV TRACK: St. Vitus' Dance HARD8/10 Also I love the title but they were right, Snowblind would've been 10000 times better.
