This is a classic from Willie Nelson. It's always a treat to artists perform music that is "outside" of their typical genre. Similarly to how Ray Charles performed Country Western music, Willie Nelson performing 1920's-40s jazz standards is quite a bit out of his normal zone. Modern listeners may not understand the fairly strong barriers between genres from the 20th century and Willie breaking that mold is actually one of the things that makes this album unique and standout. At the same time, this is not the most interesting album for modern ears and so many artists like Rod Stewart have done the same thing since this. While this is an excellent album, it is worth noting that in the grand scheme of this 1001 album project, it is very "mid" which grants it my 3-star review.
