Why is he bad at singing its like 60’s front bottoms wtf
Not all that, not bad but like i dont get why its one of the greatest
Lyrics are weird but it was the 60’s
I HATE when horns are playing the same thing as the vocals. Tin soldier man is Bad. Bad song.
Not great. Not awful. Definitely not one of the best albums ever made.

VIBING.
yes.
This production is fabulous.
POUR SOME SUUUGAR ON MEEEH.
Why am i enjoying music made before my bedtime who am i
Only real negative criticism so far is that it starts to lose me in the second half, its unbelievably consistent and thats amazing but i really wish it elaborated a little more, broke the boundaries of an already great album to make it even better. But alas, this album really is fantastic.
The verdict: I understand.

Tbh its quite good but i guess im just biased that i dont really enjoy 90s hip hop too much. Lyrically very good, but i get a bit tired yas the album goes on.
Would rate 3.75/5 if possible

I thoroughly enjoy this album. I can clearly see the influence it has had on contemporary alt rock, jazz rock and blues rock. I was thinking about RHCP, Arcade Fire and more while listening. Only critique that seems to be consistent with albums of this generation is it can be a little repetitive at times but that is made up for with its fabulous musicality and select songs that go against the repetition and evolve, even if subtly, throughout the track.

Black Flag
I know, i love punk music, and i CANNOT disregard the impact these guys had on modern punk music. Theres a lot i enjoy about this record, but theres something that plagues this album and many punk albums of its generation - less than enjoyable vocals. Im a bit of a hypocrite for saying that, especially as part of punks whole schtick is disregarding rules, including “rules” about what vocals “should sound like,” so it makes perfect sense why their sound is the way it is.
But i must reiterate! This album and many punk albums of its time were vital to the evolution of one of the genres i hold dear to my heart. I respect the hell out of these guys and what they did and help build, but i must admit its not an album i really care for. If i were there it came out and the years following, i may have a very different opinion on the album from a musical standpoint.
This album makes sense, from its time and its impact, and thats why i think it deserves a spot on this list, but personally, im disinterested in it from strictly a listening standpoint.

COWBOYYYYYYY
Is that a CHILD saying that???????
i do be thinkin about jumbo shrimp a lot, too.
I mean im kinda bored by track 4. Its a lot of the same thing with slightly different backtracks.
It’s an interesting album for the time, but it’s kinda insufferable. I genuinely do not know why this album is considered one if the best.
But i must be honest. I did not finish this album. I stopped at track 8. but can you blame me?

Garbage
Garbage
Initially, it sounds like most other alt rock albums of the 90s. Its very good musically and i enjoy the vocal quality.
Maybe this only sounds generic because ive heard so much alt rock from the 90s and early 00’s that were influenced by the early/mid 90s alt scene… perhaps this was some new shit at the time that took people by surprise, but listening now, its not surprising me. It is good though, i enjoy it as it fits into a genre ive been surrounded by my whole life.
I think its hard to justify why this is one of the albums on this list, but again i think its because ive been desensitized to alt rock in such a way that i enjoy it almost by default that i cant even recognize when an alt rock band has changed the game or not.
A Stroke of Luck is a vibe and a half.
Stupid girl is a little long and repetitive.
I am boppin to this record ngl.
I enjoy this record quite a bit, theres many alt rock bands, many women-led, that i can clearly hear Garbage’s influence on. I still dont believe it is quite suited for this list, though…
Is this an album i would buy in vinyl? Yeah probably.
Would rate 3.75/5 if possible, but i lean toward 4 more

Oo wee
This is definitely some of the better early 2000’s rap ive heard (granted, ive only really listened to the radio stuff)
Work It will always be a classic, i remember listening to this track with my old neighbor on the way to school in 2013-15.
HOT DAM I DID NOT KNOW WORK IT WAS REFERENCED IN RATATA WITH SKRILLEX
Back in the day is such a vibe
I think I understand why this album is on this list, and there are some tracks i really enjoy, but its not one i would go out of my way to listen to. Definitely worthy of this list from a big picture standpoint.

Bad
Michael Jackson
I think hes bad, he keeps reminding me
The 2012 remaster honestly sounds thin af, i blame the producer. I feel like this slappin basslines and drums should have more meat to them but theyre so lacking and it takes away from the music — which is almost universally accepted as some of the greatest pop music ever made.
Its true! I dont think any of us can name a single human we know who hasn’t heard most of these songs. My mom would play this album among many other 80’s pop records since that has always been her favorite era if music. I grew up to this alongside steely dan and the doobie brothers as an interesting combination in my early music listening days.
I feel like all of us can find memories associated with listening to MJ whether it was deliberately listening to this or other records or that MJ happened to be playing during significant moments. He’s omnipresent in American culture since the 80’s and we cannot deny that. I mean, you just cant help but dance to this record.
I think it goes without saying why this record is considered one of the greatest of all time, theres little argument against it.
3/5
Nah in jokin this will be my first 5/5.

Apologies fellas, i am late to the game but alas i am still here to review.
I hate it already. Good god i’m 30 seconds in and i hate it. Lets see if that changes…
Well it was the 70’s, so the vocal style makes sense, it just doesn’t sound good.
The instrumentals are good, no problem with the backing track. Its just those awful vocals.
The saving grace really the saxophone and thats about it.
Each song sounds to the same i hate it so much.
Just like kid rock, i could not finish this album. Apologies, fellas, i tried my best.

Randy Newman
What a shift from xray Spex to Randy Newman.
I was not expecting him to just casually drop the hard R like that. Kinda lost me a lot with that right off the bat.
I know hes super loved in the disney scene but man i cannot let that hard R go, thats just ridiculous.
So about the music…
I mean it isnt bad, its hard not to enjoy his voice and the slow bluesy backing track.
HE GOT SOME COCAINE FROM A FRIEND???
WEE-see-anaah
He really does have some out of pocket lyrics. I was not expecting that from beloved disney singer man.
Is randy newman a communist? Every man a king giving big commy vibes.
Christ he really has such out of pocket lyrics. I relly cant rate this well with how absurd this mans writing is.

Right off the bat im vibing
Its one of those records that feels so 90’s but also i can feel its contemporary influence on recent punk bands. I love it.
Its by no means a perfect 90s punk album but i really enjoy what it is. Vocals are sometimes a little shotty but overall theyre very good for the style they have.
Im honestly surprised i haven’t listened to these guys earlier.
Using the dog bark as a beat into been caught stealing was too good i love it.
While the later songs are very long i really didn’t mind listening through the whole things, i enjoy that as the album went on it got slower.
I really enjoy this album despite its flaws, i would rate it a 3.75/5 if possible, but leaning toward a 4.
Would i buy this vinyl? Yeah probably.

Sade
Smooth operator by carlos sainz, formula 1 racer for Ferarri, is my favorite song.
Coast to coast la to chicago? I mean i guess lake michigan could count as a coast…
But real talk this record is a vibe from the get-go.
I feel like its hard to dislike this record, its got good vibes, great production, soothing vocals, what else would you want?
However! Im not too sure if i feel like this is deserving of one of the greatest records of all time — i do get a little tired of it going through the record as it has the same problem as some other records we’ve listened to, its TOO consistent, most songs have the same general vibe and styling, but alas they are very well made and its hard to not enjoy it for what the music is.

Hot damn
many of these songs were around a lot when i was a kid, it takes me to a certain time where i was still being introduced to new music. I see the 90s alt rock meets jam band feel in this record and its fantastic.
Im reminded of dave matthews band quite a bit
Why go home? Its past my bedtime.
Very good record, would rate 4.5/5 if possible.

I kinda hate it right off the bat.
I literally cannot understand this dude.
For the 70s, this was very much a proper predecessor to 80s and 90s punk, and its very evident in the style. The influence is clear as day.
However, the singer sounds drunk as a skunk, theres not a single coherent phrase ive heard only a few songs in.
Now, much like Black Flag, i cannot ignore the importance of this record for the influence it has had on punk and hardcore music. While we have come a long way, this record contributed to the development of the foundation of punk music. But it falls into the same situation as Black Flags early work, that i really cannot enjoy this music for what it is, if i were to separate it from its time and impact.
This record only saves itself from a failing grade because of this vitality of its impact on punk music.
I would not buy this record for my collection.
