American IV: The Man Comes Around
by Johnny Cash
I remember when Hurt came out with one of the saddest music videos shortly before Cash's death. I never listened to the full album at that time, but listening to it now it's a beautiful conclusion to his career and life. The first half of the album sounds like him coming to terms of where he's been in his life, with the second half sounding a bit more like his older catalog in a good way. Finding out that Rick Rubin produced the record was also a bit mind boggling as it's such a departure from his usual work, but still works fantastically.
