I'm not sure if I actually don't like the title track or if it's just a frustrating "why is THIS the song you like" reaction to its popularity. As fun as the bass is and as rock-solid of a progression, its repetitive, kinda martial quality (sorta like Another Brick in the Wall) just feels less colorful and good than plenty of the other songs on the album. But man lots of bangers on here.
Ending with that Ink Spots cover, a "chin up" after all this fear of leaving behind the good and learning to embrace our bad, feels like saying: it all boils down pretty simply after all that. Hell of a lens to be looking at life through after all the other fears and hopes and darknesses he looks at here. Like, this is on the same album as Hurt.
