1001 Albums Summary

The good thing about this is that I would've never listened to a Louis Prima album. As soon as the first song started, my toe was tapping, and it didn't stop until the end of the last song. I instantly loved the album when I realised King Louie was singing it!

I Was not expecting Ágætis Byrjun to be this good. All of the elements come together to create an atmosphere that is womb-like and peaceful. Even though I couldn't understand a word, the lead singer's voice felt calming and added to the music. If you haven't listened to it yet, I strongly urge you to give it a try. Only fault is that some songs were too long, and lost my attention.

What's great about this album, is that every song sounds unique and yet fits on it. Jimmy Page's guitar-work is still as timeless as it was back in 1971, and Robert Plant's vocals are still as unique and cool today. You can't not tap your feet or nod your head whilst listening to this album, and that is thanks to the incredible drumming by John Bonham which inspired an entire generation of kids and adults alike to learn the drums. Led Zeppelin chose that name because they thought they'd never get off the ground, and this album showed that they were still as humble and playful as they were when they first started. Instant 5 stars
