1001 Albums Summary

Not my kind of music but still a good listen. Spiced up a particularly quiet Wednesday morning. The songs do sound a fair bit the same.

Rock and kind of folky. I enjoyed the lyrics more than the sound. Good story telling with some clear themes of growing up, religion and realising what you were taught isn’t the way the world is. A very English album.

I really enjoyed this. I played the album twice. The lyrics with the stripped back blues like guitar and harmonica really did it for me. I preferred this to his folkier music. I always find his voice so easy to listen to.

I had this on CD when it was released. Never realised Fight Test was a complete Cat Stevens rip off till listening to it now vs back when it was released. The title track has been a fav of mine for a long time. This album was always a good sunny afternoon listen.

Listened to this a lot when I was younger. I enjoyed it for the instrumentals a lot, but on a listen now found it too busy. I like the early iteration of 90’s funk/ hip hop

It was a decent listen but the hype seemed to be more that it was his last, rather than it was his best.

Loved this album back when my brother introduced me to them but the rapping style does get a little repetitive for a whole album listen. Great instrumentals.
