1001 Albums Summary

i hadn’t realised i needed to explore more 90s hip hop until this album became one of many daily listens. at about the halfway point i’m loving it. saving it to my library in order to relisten when i am 🪨ed enough for it to be a whole new experience. i love a steady baseline (for the most part), clever lyrics if a simply subject, and a calmer vibe. not my top top genre i will admit but i’m enjoying it. bonita applebaum is perhaps my favourite, if can i kick it is a basic choice (it is). mr muhammad has come out of the woodwork as a late fav, the latter half of this album hits harder than the first half. glad this is the first of many suggestions!

i’m not going to lie this is very much not my thing. good music for background listening i think, but i am simply not cultured enough to appreciate this properly and this is a Me problem. it is impressive, and beautiful, but not something i would pick up to listen to again
