1001 Albums Summary

So many good songs and so many good weird songs. Nice to listen to the whole thing back to back.

New appreciation for The V U! Really enjoyed it.

I thought I was going to hate it. I, in fact did not. Pleasantly surprised. Still not really my jam, but better than I thought.

Yes. No I will not be going on iTunes to download the back catalog of this band. No I will likely never listen to this band again.

Lots of great songs and Lets Go Crazy is one of the all time feel good / get ya goin bangers.

I have never heard of skip Spence. He sounds like Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash had a kid. Then that kid listened to nothing but Radiohead for years. Then that kid took a fuckton of mushrooms, smoked a shitload of weed, and then recorded an album. It’s not that it is terrible, just boring and unmemorable. I can think of 100 albums that should be on the list instead of this one.

I’m guessing most you, like me, have never heard of Sparks. I’ll sum it up like this. Kind of like a happier, less depressing Pink Floyd. Toss in some psychedelic Beatles and some David Bowie and you got it. Nothing too amazing. Just ok for me.
