1001 Albums Summary

Have previously heard this several times. Revolutionary for its guitar work but also for the specific kind of lifestyle it embodied: surfer dudes playing happy heavy metal/loud rock (and doing it well). In that way they're a bit of a latter-day Beach Boys. And that is a compliment. It just feels uninhibited and energetic. Like what electric guitar could sound like pushed to its limits and played with mastery. Hearing Eruption for the first time in 1978 must have been face melting (I was only 6 years old).

Trying to be objective because I'm not a huge disco fan. Sounds like the Seventies. Lush composition and lots of technical skill. Some catchy tunes, and the title track is infectious.
