Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Sep 19 2023

unapologetic, operatic, flamboyant, and fun + classic rock n roll feel, reminds me of Elton John; like the chorus melody of You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth; mad sax on All Revved Up with No Place to Go; the funk break in the middle of Paradise By the Dashboard Light is fun, also hilarious baseball announcer overlay; love the opening to For Crying Out Loud, evocative, a fun ride

This Year's Model by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 20 2023

I can see some appeal, to me, it’s fine: No Action lots of organ - reminiscent of TMBG; This Year's Girl vocals feel like Billy Joel; Intro to The Beat feels like Vampire Weekend, song is jammy; Pump it Up serious Billy Joel vibes (apparently We Didn't start the fire was 11 years later); Lipstick Vogue the instrumental breakdown is fun. Overall jammy, can feel the influence in lots of other music, feels very modern for 1978

Moondance by Van Morrison
Sep 21 2023

Classy and great

Electric Warrior by T. Rex
Sep 22 2023

feels like a 'proto' of many bands, classic; Bang a Gong (Get it On) - familiar, jammy; feels pretty 70s, fun and fine

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Sep 26 2023

“Make my funk the p-funk, I want my funk uncut. Make my funk the p-funk, I want to get funked up”; supergroovalisticprosifunkstication jammed, night if the thumpasorus peoples (ga ga goo ga) jammed. This was a head bouncer of a record
