Aladdin Sane
by David Bowie
Very "boogie woogie" album overall. Interesting - unique from Bowie's other stuff. He seems to be taking influence from everywhere - country, piano man, The Who. Time is excellent - certainly the standout track on this album for me. Shades of Ziggy Stardust, but with a bouncy piano and some more connective tissue to Bowie's later, 80s stuff. The wailing, weeping guitar sounds great. The dissonance is fantastic. Lady Grinning Soul is great too. Overall, a well-realized and unique project, though it can be a bit busy at times. Worth a listen!
