1001 Albums Summary

The first four songs on the track were good and then the album progressively downgraded. Too many of the songs either involved or were entirely based on sex leaving many songs to come off as repetitive. Little Red Corvette was personally my favorite song on the album. The vocals are good and the song has a great tune and beat. Which can not be stated for many of the other songs on this album.

Jazz listens would absolutely love this album. Unfortunately, I do not love jazz and can't recommend this album. There are only two issues with this album firstly, no vocals, and secondly retaining attention. To begin, I do not know if all jazz has no vocals, but I do know that this album has none which is a personal gripe because I very much enjoy vocals in music. Vocals add depth and meaning to songs instrumental can only do so much to portray meaning and feeling and in this album, there is a lack of both. Secondly, as it can be very easily seen this album is quite long with only seven songs. That is due to the fact that each song besides one is over ten minutes two of which are over twenty minutes long. The length of the songs would not be a problem if the songs were able to hold the listener's attention which they do not. It was a struggle to retain attention during the songs "Pharaohs Dance," and "Bitche's Brew." Those being the first two songs on the track set the pace for the rest of the album and made for a rather unenjoyable listening experience.
