Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music
Ray CharlesThis is a Christmas time album for sure. No shame playing this that time of year. Well that was lovely. Really enjoyed how the simplistic themes without coming across as campy or insincere

It’s a really good album don’t get me wrong. I just don’t think there’s any space in my life where it really fits in. Maybe sitting outside by the fire? Otherwise it’s just not my taste

The production quality on this album is really quite impressive. Seems great for playing on a sunny morning weekend to get the energy flowing. Actually a pretty great rock album despite how trailer trash American it feels

Some of these songs are great. Starfish and Coffee for one. I do want this sound to be for me but I don’t know how true that’s really going to be. Maybe just a very specific collection of songs. Strange Relationship, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man are alright. It just doesn’t seem like there’s much of a place in my life for this sound.
Wow I really liked this one. The first few tracks are really excellent. And the album is a fun ride through. Surprised it’s been this long before I’ve listened to it
Big eh. Too blue collar for me. Need my generations version of this. Music sounds fine but it’s just plain forgettable
So that’s where all these songs come from. Very good album, although it doesn’t really strike any chords within me. That Amazon show seems like it was based on this band which is a bit of a negative note that I think will hinder me any time I listen to this band. Unfortunate but it is what it is. I’ll give it a 4 to pay respects to the studded track-list
This feels tangentially related to something like the strokes or yellowcard (stretch, I know) but it doesn’t seem out of place in a teenager's lineup. I didn’t particularly like it but Jasmine did so I’ll give it a very light three, should really be like a 2
Oh wow. Was not expecting this at all. Really cool that this sound came out of the 70s. Second and third songs were kind of overstaying their welcome with that sound. 4th song is basically the same…. With a slightly upbeat attitude. A little annoying, I would have liked to hear more of a variety of the sound of the first track. It really set the stage and the album never really capitalized on it. I’ll give it a 3 since I like the sound, I just didn’t like the lack of variety
Talking Heads is that you?? No part of me is begging to relisten to this
It’s alright
Frankly Mr Shankly is great. It’s okay background sound but not much going for it in the case of a relisten. Otherwise there’s nothing all that special outside of maybe two of the songs
The instrumentation is nice but it’s difficult to find a space for it for your everyday listening experience if you’re not a cultural buff.
Interesting but ultimately disjointed. Not terribly accessible.
Oof that’s some good rock
No real standouts but fun to listen to
This is fantastic
There are brief moments where this album really shines. Though they are brief and rarely extend through the length of a track. Otherwise the sound can feel pretty discordant in a way that is not always pleasant.
Covers a pretty wide range of mid 2000s hip hop and r&b sounds. A couple standouts
Okay. Not that impressive
