Steely Danvery easy listening. solid introduction to yacht rock. not for me. best track - "i got the news"

i genuinely do not understand the hype behind U2. how they have managed to cling onto relevancy is beyond me. album comes across as whiny and drab. entirely doleful. genuinely a hard 45 mins to sit through.
this album absolutely oozes funk - caught off-guard by this. love the flow and style of rapping. each song felt like a situation. almost felt like a radio station with the repeated titular stinger. "lover hater" came out of nowhere with a full on jazz track in the middle of a rap album. "god" interlude was hilarious "hey ya" is re-contextualized throughout the latter half of the album, and is still a powerful song. "my favourite things" is a fuckin JUNGLE TRACK??

this was okay, but felt short. very soulful but a little self-congratulatory.
