1001 Albums Summary

This really brought me back in good ways and bad to what I loved and hated about 80s rap and hip hop. Still it’s a funny, knowingly juvenile and clever album with an ingenious mix of genre sampling.

One of the greatest songs ever recorded open and close the album. The vast middle is solid but just doesn’t measure up to the undeniable power of Gimme Shelter.

Fun but for me not terribly memorable.

Joyful sophistication.

Meh.

Virtuosic.

Great album. First time a woman appeared in my feed, given that, does Jack White really need to have two albums on this list. No. He’s a great guitarist but this is so much better than his solo effort.

It’s a mood.
