slow paced, but it's so pretty that it doesn't feel boring
somber vibes but still easy listening
guitar solos are so good but when he does sing he goes crazy!
welcome to the machine is objectively good, but I don't really vibe w it, the lasers are kinda grating
I like when there's smooth transitions between songs
I have loved wish you were here for forever it's such a pretty song, my fav on this album
overall: very good album, it makes perfect sense why it's so popular. the band was obviously going through a rough time when they made this lol
Simple composition of sounds, just guitar(s) and drum, occasionally keyboard. But, you can definitely appreciate all the different things a guitar can do.
Contrary to popularity, I like hotel California less than most other songs on this album, something about the vocals I don't like.
Kind of beachy/leisurely vibes.
My Name is Earl would like this album, simple and classic American tunes.
The 2nd wasted time on the album is very pretty! love the violins, bit of a vibe switch up!
Try and love again might be my favorite, the only one I added to my likes.
Overall: solid album, wouldn't mind listening to it at all, but there is nothing spectacular about it
Very typical music of this time, reminds me of tenacious D with the instruments and vocals.
I don't really enjoy this genre, and this album is not an exception.
shrieking vocals are so unpleasant.
these songs are so long and so boring.
smoke on the water is alright, a classic, but still a little boring.
all of these songs sound the same.
if I was a 60 year old white dad who hated my life, I would listen to this album while wasting away in a suburban garage.
at 2 hrs 2 mins it is an excruciating eternity. Probably the 3rd worst thing to happen in Japan.
this is an album I have already really liked, especially dreams and the chain. vibes are light and fun fresh and funky. each song has a different and unique vibe.
big fan of Stevie Nicks
Very easy listening, an album I think almost everyone likes at least a little, for good reason.
The voices complement each other very well, I like when they harmonize.
starts off very fun and enjoyable, but the last couple of songs are a little lame.
none of the songs stand out to me as particularly amazing but they are all solidly enjoyable!
let's go crazy has fun vibes towards the end, solid start to the album.
a great album for an indoor roller rink geared towards old people.
he has an odd, kind of strained voice that idk if I like.
The beautiful ones is real groovy and chill, I like this one.
Has a more modern sound, considering it's from the 80's, a real timelessness in some songs more than others.
he has a lot of fun with that electric guitar in computer blue, and in a few other songs too.
you can tell that electric / computer type music is a pretty new thing that they are still figuring out.
Mentioned this before but I can not stand shrieking vocals, if prince didn't do this I would like the album a lot more.
purple rain is a very popular song but I have never listened to it, it's not my favorite on this album but it's nice.
I would not choose to put on this album but I would be totally fine listening to it. I respect it as objectively skilled and well made art.
I hope 1001 Gen starts serving us up some music that isn't from the 70s and 80s.
I like Bob Dylan but I don't love him, very unoffensive and simple music, easy to listen to in the background of something else that's more interesting.
I like when he pulls out that harmonica, he really knows how to go crazy on that thing.
I like idiot wind, the keyboard (?) in there is pretty good . EEEYEDEYAT WHYND
in lily rosemary and jack of hearts Bob is having a lot more fun than I am with this song.
overall nothing spectacular about the album, but I didn't mind listening to it.
Simon and garfunkel are the type of shawtys where one only lies and the other one only tells the truth.
haunting yowls in save the life of my child, a unique song.
I do NOT care what those old people have to say.
violins in old friends are very pretty.
Mrs. Robinson! :)
a hazy shade of winter is a slapper as well.
outside of the of the few songs I mentioned, not a interesting album. it was likely made before the invention of music that is interesting.
let's start is fun and funky, I can't tell if he's speaking another language or just scatting. These fellas really know what to do with a brass instrument.
black man's cry is long! starting to get bored of this.
I like the sing along part in egbe mi o
ginger baker gets very boring with the 15 min drum solo.
overall I did not mind listening to this, it was an interesting switch up in vibe and I have never really listened to music like this before. maybe it would be more fun if it was live and in front of me, but I wouldn't listen to this casually.
lost at birth is very much 90's music with the record scratches and the beat.
The lyrics talking about politics and social justice are in real contrast to the fun music.
each song has a different and distinct sound to it, but they all have the same type of vibe that makes all the songs work together.
by the time I get to Arizona is real cool.
shut em down is bumping too, hold on just listened to the end, that is funny!
I bet this had a big cultural and political impact at the time, but to me in this day and age, it's just a fun album. Either way, some solid tunes!
going into this album, I have already decided that I'm only going to listen to the first third.
The trumpet thing in overture isn't really doing anything for me.
1921 has a pretty good tune!
I don't know if I love the vocals on this album, it sounds about 20% ghost, something about the harmonization and breathiness.
sparks has some good guitar skills.
not a whole lot of variation between these songs.
underture isn't interesting enough to warrant this length.
what are they even singing about in any of these songs? they are either about some random person they know or it's comple nonsense.
they keep on mentioning stuff like Tommy and the mirror and the wizard and I truly believe that it's because they can't think of anything else.
Tommy's holiday camp?
The Who has a few good songs but none of them are on this album, and what is on this album isn't songs I enjoyed for the most part.
finally a more modern album! reminds me of elementary/middle school.
I don't listen to Adele enough. she has such a strong and beautiful voice.
I like the drums in rolling in the deep.
rumor has it is a little overplayed, repetitive, not my favorite.
set fire to the rain is a legendary song. she went crazy on this one.
some of these songs resonate with me more than others, and he won't go is a little lacking.
I haven't heard I'll be waiting before, I like this one too. good brass instruments.
lovesong is underrated, it's lower energy but very pretty.
someone like you is Adeles best song. the piano is understated but complements her voice so nicely. it's real sad too.
bitter sweet symphony is such a classic, good violins and vocals, catchy tune!
sonnet is another pretty song, I like the wawawa guitar.
The drugs don't work is another classic, very pretty and a little bit sad, but still easy listening.
space and time is good too, nice guitar.
The songs don't sound all the same, they just all have a consistent type of energy that makes the album very cohesive. it's a real balance.
lucky man has hints of bitter sweet symphony in there, a good touch!
this time has pretty harmonization.
There isn't a song I didn't like on this album, they were all consistently pretty good! I learned that the verve has songs other than bitter sweet symphony, and that they are worth listening to.
yippee I love nirvana!
smells like teen spirit goes tremendously hard it's such a legendary song.
come as you are is another leg, absolutely scrumptious bass.
The nostalga adds to the enjoyment, the songs I never heard before are just fine.
territorial pissings is real fun! more energy than other songs here.
something in the way is much slower and more somber than the other songs, I like it too.
endless nameless has some pretty interesting sounds.
I just know nirvana went crazy as live music. legendary music, really defined grunge as a genre and will be loved for a long time.
I went into this with low expectations but the grand tour was actually very pleasant and enjoyable!
the piano with the string instruments and gentle vocals with the backup chorus is all really enjoyable.
pleasant and peaceful vibes, this would be the perfect soundtrack to lounging on a lawn chair with some sunny weather.
there's not much difference between these songs, which could get boring but hasn't gotten boring yet.
The weatherman is a little bit of a vibe switch up, a little more upbeat and fun, I like it too.
I don't have a whole lot of comments only because a lot of these songs aren't unique enough from the rest of the album to get their own comment.
I really enjoyed these tunes, but I think they would do very well as background music more than active listening music.
them bones is fun, I like the good guitar skills, but I don't like the vocals.
rooster is cool, is a little more catchy than other songs here and has a good kicky guitar. starting to get tired of those winy and nasaly vocals, especially in God smack.
I don't have much to say about this album, the songs all sound very similar and it's not really my type of music. points for good guitar though
going into this, I do not like jazz.
it sounds like the individual members of the band do not like each other and did not agree on what to play before they started recording.
in So What the trumpet is high skill for sure, it's cool sounding, but it doesn't do much for me.
I am about halfway through Freddie freeloader and I am getting a little sick of this!
doing homework while listening and idk if it's making it easier or harder.
blue in green isn't that bad actually! it is a lot more mellow and relaxing. reminds me of a more subdued scene from monsters Inc.
on all blues now, don't love this one very much. sounds very similar to the first 2 songs.
flamenco sketches I do not care for.
the very beginning sounds like horror movie soundtrack.
tubular bells 1 is long but it switches up so it stays interesting.
I like the variety of different sounds and instruments he uses, but I don't love when he announces what instrument I'm listening to.
tubular bells 2 at 8:30 is is really pretty. I think I like part 2 more than part 1, in contrast to the plays statistics.
actually, the growling in bells 2 is a little unpleasant.
these tunes remind me a bit of shine on you crazy diamond.
The single is real nice too but I don't know why this would be singled out.
I don't like the sailors hornpipe, maybe I just don't get it but it doesn't do anything for me.
overall very nicely made album, good to listen to in the background, but maybe not for active listening. I enjoyed everything except the sailor, it ended on a wack note.
its a little slow to start, but I like the noise in the beginning of burning wheel.
I don't listen to much of this genre, I'm not even sure what it's called, but it's interesting.
kowalski is a little intense.
star is real nice and groovy, makes sense why it's more popular, it's more normal.
medication might me by least favorite so far.
I like how each song has a slightly unique vibe, they are not too samey.
long life is calming and pretty, I like how the album swings between more intense sounds to very soothing sounds like this, it keeps things interesting, but I prefer the more soothing sounds.
I like the chronic, good beat.
I like the snoop dogg features, he has some fun rhymes.
The album is very dated, with the sounds and putting zs in stuff, spelling words, but it's so old that at this point it feels vintage, like wrought iron or a game boy.
nothin but a g thang is fun, makes sense that it's one of the more popular ones.
I thought deez nuts came from vine, but seems like it's older. is this the first use?
the album kicks off with a lot of good songs but as the time goes on, I feel like the quality is going down a little.
I do not like or care at all about the non musical interjections, those could have been left out.
I like that there are a lot of different features on the album, so you get to hear a variety.
I wouldn't choose to put on this album but I enjoyed listening to it, that's what I like about doing this, I get to find all sorts of cool music that I would never have listened to otherwise.
war pigs is famous for rhyming masses with masses, but I like the guitar in this, slow paced and unoffensive rock.
I didn't expect planet caravans vibe, but it was nice and relaxing.
iron man! like the guy from the movie(s)!
hand of doom is a little boring, too cliche of the genre.
high skill guitar on here, and not annoying or unpleasant or anything. probably my favorite of this genre. wouldn't choose to listen, but mildly enjoyable to hear.
