Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Oct 23 2023

I’m a big sucker for harmonies so this was right up my alley. I’d heard a couple of tracks off of this album beforehand and they turned out to be the strongest ones. The songwriting was tight but the runtime felt far longer than it was in truth, because there was a lot of filler.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Oct 24 2023

Riffs, riffs and more riffs. I really enjoyed the variety of moods and styles on this album, but it did occasionally veer into the self indulgent. The vocals as a companion piece to the instrumentation is great until it’s not - some songs I feel I would have preferred as instrumental.

Oct 25 2023

This one didn't enrapture me as much as I expected - maybe because I couldn't devote myself fully to it today. There are some great original tracks and new versions but I'm not a huge fan of big band (I can see why it would have been pretty pioneering in its time).

Oct 26 2023

This is one I will definitely be coming back to. Short in tracks but big on atmosphere.

Oct 27 2023

I love this album, it’s such a wild ride. It’s the first one I’ve listened to before (and a lot). An all-time classic.

Stankonia by OutKast
Oct 30 2023

Mind-blowing production and a pioneering style, the two most famous tracks following each other is a treat too.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Oct 31 2023

This album feels bang average - I've heard Bruce Springsteen's most famous songs, which sounded the same, but just not as good. I'm not sure if it's controversial, but I don't understand how he is so popular. I won't be listening again.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Nov 01 2023

Despite feeling like a watered-down Steely Dan in some areas, the proto-grungey sound is great, and harmonies always knock it up another notch for me. BAM.

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Nov 02 2023

Dreamy and fun, a variety of styles and moods. I’d never heard of them before but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got this the day after Neil Young & Crazy Horse, which was a bonus.
