Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Oct 24 2023

6.5/10 Very solid CCR, but most tracks fall a tad uninspiring, especially considering Good Golly Miss Molly and Proud Mary being on the track list. I especially like the cover art in which the photographer dropped out of Star Wars hyperspace just in time to snap Credence chilling in a swamp One thing I am inspired to do by this album, however, is choogle. God damn, I will choogle to the ends of the earth. I will choogle high, I will choogle low. Choogle near, choogle far, choogle wherever the fuck you are, John Fogerty commands me to choogle, and I will follow him in chooglin' til the curtain falls and I choogle no more.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Oct 25 2023

6.8/10 This album is played in rehab centres to remind people drugs make you scream real loud and sometimes invent grunge by accident. Some absolutely fucking INSANE guitar work from Jerry Cantrell, and Layne Staley's voice conveys the pain of addiction like no other. Haunting considering the context of his death. Rooster and Sickman are high points for me. Can come across as a touch one-note due to the 80s metal influences, but the grunge elements and Layne's vocals carry you through it.

Stankonia by OutKast
Oct 27 2023

Never had so much fun listening to the first half of an album, followed by a fat fucking nap through the second half. BOB, Gasoline Dreams, and Ms. Jackson all personal highlights Has a bar about taking a bitch up into the attic like Anne Frank, so instant +1 point for me 7.2/10

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Oct 30 2023

Most of R Bob's stuff is timeless, catchy, emotion packed. This album left a lot to be desired on that front, but really captured a moment in time. If there's a film set in 1974 Kingston, I just know they're using a song off this album to soundtrack it. 6.8/10

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
Oct 31 2023

Excellent album. Overly indulgent in solos and fuckery, and some songs go round a good few times more than they should, but it's approached with such earnest and genuineness that it comes off as quite charming. Just a jam in a 12" sleeve 8.0/10
