The Stranger by Billy Joel
Nov 09 2023

Nostalgic. Didn't know that most of his bangers came on 1 album.

Kid A by Radiohead
Nov 10 2023

Uncomfortable listening. Not necessarily in a bad way. Not their best work but a few decent songs.

Nov 13 2023

Some iconic tracks in here but oh my god, Bono loves himself so much. Vocals are so self indulgent. Overall decent album. Very one note.

Purple Rain by Prince
Nov 15 2023

Extremely talented multi-instrumentalist. Think you'd have to have been kicking around in the 80's to truly appreciate this for what it is but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Let's go crazy stood out to me as the song that's stood the test of time.

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Nov 16 2023

Samey samey. Cool harmonica but a bit boring overall.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Nov 23 2023

Some absolute stinkers amongst some decent songs. Blue Orchid, My Doorbell and The Denial Twist stood out. A few of these just sounded like bad demo tapes though. It's chaotic but not in a way that makes sense. It's like they knew what their good songs were and spaced them out between some absolute garbage in between, just hoping that no one noticed.

Garbage by Garbage
Nov 24 2023

Got bored halfway through. Not bad but top 1000? Probably more cultural impact than I know.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Nov 27 2023

Everything about this album just feels massive. Amazing.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Nov 28 2023

I love how quickly they can change up the vibe in this album. "My Best Friend" could quite easily be a Beatles song whereas "White Rabbit" shows the band's innovative side, it feels dark, ahead of its' time and worthy of any thriller movie soundtrack. Even "Plastic Fantastic Lover" strays momentarily into hip hop with its quick lyricism. "In the Morning" wouldn't sound out of place in the 50's New Orleans R&B scene. It pulls off each genre so well you can forgive it for maybe having a lack of an overall theme or structure throughout.
