1001 Albums Summary

Started off surprisingly strong and while I'm unfamiliar with all of the music of that time period, it sounds exactly like most of what I would expect from the early 60s. I also know the only music that surivived the test of time is the best from that era. I'm unaware of the cultural impact of this album in particular and I don't know if it pushed forward music in any way but for its time I'd say this is a very solid album that starts dragging a bit in the middle. More than half of the album made became welcome additions to my shuffle playlist. I'm already mostly familiar with the Beatles so I don't think I'll be doing further listening to them at this time.

As much as I love and respect Bowie, this is an album I've mostly avoided, and I understand why. It's a solid body of music, but also not the most interesting thing to listen to. A 40 min album with 2-3 memorable songs isn't a bad album by any means, and I think it's still a very impressively written album, just not entirely my taste.
