Good stuff, bit too repetitive for me at times but mostly nailed it throughout specially on Groovallegiance which was my favorite track.

Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen
Jan 03 2024

Really liked this album, the vocals really amazed me as Bruce has such a great range singing with a nice roughness at times but also a more delicate voice in others.I think Adam Raised A Cain and Racing In The Street are great examples of this and are my personal favorite tracks.

The Yes Album by Yes

Best album so far,perfectly composed

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 08 2024

I feel like the easiest comparison to make for me is Beastie Boys’ Licensed To Ill,both from the same era however despite how much I like Licensed To Ill, I wasn’t big on Raising Hell.Run-DMC aren’t as charismatic as the Beastie Boys and the beats are largely less interesting on this project as well. There’s the obvious highlights like Walk This Way and It’s Tricky but apart from those I wasn’t really big on this album.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Jan 20 2024

First 5 I’m giving, and it’s an album I’ve already heard before (lol).Yeah I’m already really familiar with tribe and a huge fan of their stuff however this album’s just as good on the second listen if not better. It’s not for nothing this is considered one of the greatest rap albums not just of its era but of all time.Bass has always been such an integral part of hip hop, even in the modern day we can still see it in the vibrating trap bass that makes your cars speakers shake. This album utilizes bass so efficiently and masterfully and it goes perfectly with Q-Tip’s and Phife’s raps. The lyricism is catchy and memorable, simple and appealing.Q-Tip’s flow and his chemistry with Phife combined with the album’s bass and percussion focused beats result in a very hypnotizing and appealing listen. It’s smooth (like butter).Legendary album. (R.I.P. Phife)

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Mar 26 2024

In the second installment of ending my inactivity when one of my all time favorite albums arrives, and it’s fitting because the last one was the low end theory,”the fans want the feeling of a tribe called quest, but all they got left is this guy called west”.However this is more than just a guy called west. It’s the birth of a hip hop phenomenon and who I consider to be my all time favorite artist (the glazing is crazy). This is a masterpiece of an album though and what started my Kanye journey and arguably my journey into music as a whole.Kanye shows surprising efficiency lyrically for a guy labeled “just a producer” and the beats’ excellency show why so many people only saw him as a producer.Idk what else to say tbh this album is just goated.
