1001 Albums Summary

Proto-punk. Catchy tunes. Interesting lyrics delivered in a laconic vocal style. Got better on 2nd listen.

Upbeat, feel good ‘90s Britpop. Strong opening track plus a handful of other tracks I liked. First material I’ve heard from Blur aside from Song 2.

I have learned via listening to this album that desert blues is definitely NOT my cup of tea lol. I appreciate the backstory behind the album and the defiance in the face of authority is very punk, but that isn’t really reflected in the music.

Dissonant industrial/noise. Started off extremely harsh, got gentler as it went along. Second half of the album was almost entirely absent of vocals.
