1001 Albums Summary

it's pretentious and incredibly extra, but seeing what they've pulled off here in the context of 1971 it sure is very impressive. I enjoy it somewhat, but every so often the excessiveness of some musical phrases and sounds takes me completely out of the zone. Maybe it's just my untrained ears not appreciating what they're hearing, but for me, for right now, all of this is just WAY too much.

Revolutionary for its time, but now that all of the cultural shock value is gone it ends up being either grating or funny (and not particularly to its advantage)
