Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 10 2024

Unpopular take: Reggae sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. I listened to the first song (I like the horns) - but I couldn't go any further. SUE ME! :shrug emoji:

The Clash by The Clash
Jan 11 2024

Love this album so much I accidentally listenined to it on repeat without noticing. Definitely hear sounds that *must* have influenced U2 in the early days. Later confirmed: https://www.epitaph.com/news/article/bono-elton-john-chuck-d-talk-about-joe-strummerthe-clash Bono: Well, without exaggeration, the Clash were the first rock n roll band that we ever saw perform. It was in 1977, in Dublin, on the Clash's Get Out of Control tour-in fact, we wrote a tune called "out of Control" after seeing that show. I was 17 at the time, and I remember being frightened because there was a lot of aggression at the gate. But I was also elated. + Love this fun fact: Most of the album was conceived on the 18th floor of a council high rise on London's Harrow Road, in a flat that was rented by Mick Jones's grandmother, who frequently went to see their live concerts. <3 <3 <3

Live At Leeds by The Who
Jan 12 2024

No strong feelings either way. Undeniably good album, but not something I'd put on intentionally. I'd also rather watch a video/doc of live performance and not heard a live recorded album.
