I'm from 1995 growing up on a hodgepodge melting pot of Eminem, AcDc, Sinatra, D. Martin, Jumper Bruno, Bruno Mars, Tash Sultana, Beastie Boys, etc. The album felt slower at times compared to the music I'm used to, the lyrics are more compressed but more composed because of it. Some of songs drag the lyrics out to set the stage for an instrumental, but it makes the compression of the lyrics harder, because to me, there's more time in the rhythm to put more feelings and words together for the audience. The Doors themselves do very well. They're rascals who touch on any topic of emotions they can, from being in a backdoor affair to mourning their mothers, while stepping forward and jiving with life. I just think the time they were in created standards that limited them, and they'd do very well for the 80s instead of the 60s
