The beginning of Zeppelin's peak. Staying in their blues-y hard rock pocket while venturing into folk territory that they would become known for. Every track on the album is at least enjoyable, while some of their best can be found on this album as well. Sequencing on this album is interesting. Their harder, more energetic tracks are all on the first side, and the latter half slowly winds down and gives us a nice collection of acoustic tracks. This album runs the full gambit of Zeppelin sounds. It has a bit of what they brought with I and II, and a good sampling of what would be coming in the future. While not the best they have to offer, It still stands above most of the rock that was being put out at the time.
