1001 Albums Summary

love bjork with all of my life. post through vespertine are probably my fav of her albums but i loooove debut too. bjorks experimentalism is on full display here, and the album really does feel ahead of its time in so many ways. this album probably more than any others showed just the raw possibilities she would start exploring for the next few decades. a little bit of everything is on here and it's just so exciting and inspiring to listen to

almost definitely the best album of the beatles' early era. really a kind of a testament of the band's songwriting abilities and i think shows a lot of their ambition in songs like the title track, if i fell, and i love her... in terms of straight pop melodies these are def some of the most flexible and infectious they ever made. something so fun abt an album where all the songs are 2 mins too, just good song after good song!!

revisiting this and checking the release date is so shocking. i think as my knowledge of alt rock history has developed over time, the more impressive an achievement like this comes across. and then the fact it's a debut.... kind of so good it's scary. fav is probably perfect circle!

hard to understate how important the pixies are to my ideas about music and sound. not to mention their influence on so many other artists i find important... doolittle definitely stands a bit higher in my mind. but so much of what makes that album great was getting formed here. kim deal forever. also where is my mind is genuinely one of the greatest songs ever made
