1001 Albums Summary

Many of the tracks seem goofy and just don’t do much for me. I respect the artistic craft and it’s not uninteresting, but I don’t really enjoy listening to it. However, there is some beautiful instrumentation in the title track and shouty vocals in the end that I love. The transition from sense of doubt into moss garden is beautiful though. It feels like being 6 years old watching a helicopter flyover laying in the front yard (psychedelic & nostalgic). I wish I understood the album better though. I feel like I must be dumb for not “getting it”. Can appreciate some cool musical moments though.

So many generic sounding dad rock riffs unfortunately but that’s not the artists fault, the genre has been beaten to death. But yeah it’s boring to listen to most of it. Sounds like a Led Zeppelin cover band lol. I like some stuff happening on “what is & what should never be” tho. Nice softer vocals and bass movements. Same with parts of “ramble on”

The emotion is just not there for me lol. Some bob dylan 70s vibes on a few tracks which I guess is alright but I’d rather just listen to him. It’s too theatrical for me. The last song “lady grinning soul” packed a little bit more emotion (more of a typical dramatic “end of the film” Bowie vibe) but still wouldn’t really listen to any of it again. :( lol

So many beautiful and nostalgic songs

I don’t get it unfortunately. Can’t get past the vocals which don’t really do so for me. They’re not emotive for me. I don’t know what Is really being communicated lyrically because I’m turned off by the music. Some production is cool or vibey but not really lol. The last track had an interesting horror thing going w the sound effects that I was kind of into by the end.
