1001 Albums Summary

I feel like better than half of this album is what I feel represent the Pixies for an early effort. Clearly - Where is my Mind was an extremely high water mark and stands the test of time. Something against you, Broken Face, Cactus, Vamos, Brick is Red are tunes I feel have that first full-length album edge. Engineering wise, I feel like the guitar is too scratchy and weak while I was always looking for heavier bass and drums. In the end I think I would always prefer the Pixies live.

I admit this is slightly out of my lane. However, I hear some decent Jazz influenced arrangements with some really good drums and bass lines, mixed with classic hip hop. I am always a fan of pushing the envelope, but sometimes I feel the use of unnecessary stupid assed lyrics annoy me. Having said that, this is really well produced!
