Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Feb 24 2024

Born on the Bayou - Liked the world building and storytelling Bootleg - Found the lyrics funny, although the idea of a 'free' woman is a bit of its time Graveyard Train - Again, great story-telling, great song Proud Mary - "oh so that's where it's from!" Keep on Chooglin' - The guitar solo over the repetitive main beat & instrumentals here are the main selling point. Somehow the song matches the word choogle

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Feb 25 2024

1. Black Mirror - Inspired the Netflix show! 2. Keep the Car Running - Can imagine this in an '80s movie car sequence 3. Neon Bible - Perils of Religion = a fave motif in art 4. Intervention - the lyrics hit me, the organ-like music added to this "been working for the church while...." One of my faves so far 5. Black Wave/Bad Vibration - Unexpected shift, but linked in well. Carry on the chase sequence from KCR in the album narrative (NB & Inter. were the reasons why). The bass/drums were like the song title. Stormy high point in the album narrative 6. Ocean of Noise - Calm in the storm. 7. The Well and the Lighthouse - Why did this remind me of Crime & Punishment? 8. (Antichrist Television Blues) - Dystopian Hell. Bit noncy x 9. Windowsill - A song for a generation. "I don't wanna live with my father's debt/ You can't forgive what you can't forget." The female vocals joining in good 10. No Cars Go - Why is this the 2nd most played song from this album? This is not near the best 11.My Body Is a Cage - A good theme and story to end this album. Ends in hope-ish?
