Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Mar 28 2024

I've already listened to this album, I really like the coolness of the 5-4 rhythm and how Brubeck explicitly did it because he felt too many popular songs were not challenging enough. And it still became an instrumental hit in 1959.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Mar 29 2024

Joplin was pretty revolutionary as one of the first big female rock artists. Love how she combines classic rock and blues elements with her powerful voice.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Apr 07 2024

genre: soft rock pretty consistent double album although it starts to blend in towards the end. Interestingly enough the good tracks are spread throughout the album rather than packed in the first vinyl (although Sisters of the Moon is indeed amazing). There's also something so satisfying about Mick Fleetwood's soft drum pulses, especially in songs like Beautiful Child. Obviously Rumours is still the superior album but no soft rock fan should skip this! liked on spotify: mentioned + Storms nice tracks: Over & Over, Think About Me, Sara (the storyline here is so good), What Makes You Think You're the One, Not That Funny, Angel, Brown Eyes, I Know I'm Not Wrong, Walk a Thin Line, Tusk rating: 3.5/5
