1001 Albums Summary

- as one of my first forays into 70s music in general (in regards to whole albums), this seems pretty impressive to me - bold decisions, throughout the album and perhaps most visibly with the opener - often very full and thought out arrangements, for the short time it was created in - some of it is not for me, as i take quick issue with certain cadences and chord changes, but that's more my fault than Elton's - does seem to have a bit of filler - i would blast Grey Seal all day

- the funk goes hard - papa was a rolling stone is phenomenal - almost no filler, not that big of a fan of the last two songs, but well, they are good nonetheless - the stereo separation gives me headaches on headphones

- this album is a technical marvel, both in the guitar playing and the production - there are so many details in production and songwriting, that make a listen enjoyable - the songwriting isn't really for me I suppose

it does the bluesin' pretty well
