1001 Albums Summary

Drop the pressure is a hit In my arms it's boring but at least it's catchy The title track Destroy Rock and Roll has a nice rhythmic vocals that reminds me of "Salvini che elenca cose low fi" (and no, it's not a compliment) The rest of the album is boring as hell I think Mylo never wanted to introduce variation in the loops and in hindsight it's a mistake (see Music for the Jilted Generation or The Fat of the Land by Prodigy for comparison, actually this album makes me appreciate those two I mentioned more because it shows that it's really hard to mix very good loops) Definitely not a must listen album

Has very smooth vibes overall, but songs feel very long. Often in the album there are superimposed tracks of free flowing piano that are good but feel too random regarding the underlying track theme. Antropofagos has a very good base loop, reminds me of a SMT game music in the beginning, and the violin part albeit repetitive has a very good rhythm to it. Still too long though. Abraço starts as an SMT game music again and evolves into electronic, light rap and has a very good vibe overall. I understand that the objective here is to mix electronic sounds in the classic Brazilian music and this album accomplishes it. This could have been a KidA type album where it revolutionizes the genre after its release, but somewhat falls short due to being very repetitive in the electronic loops and the underlying Brazilian rhythms being mildly uninteresting. Very good album but not for me

Peculiar record I cannot identify it very well, but I like it!

I don't understand

Boring as hell, my god, were we just unlucky or all the album in the list are like that? It's a bad Mezzanine or Blue Lines by Massive Attack. Already a style I don't appreciate much, but this is at a new low.
