1001 Albums Summary

I can respect the message and imagery that the album conveys about what life was like for Notorious B.I.G. and the kind of experiences he went through. It describes a lot of unsettling themes of what life was like for his community. However, I am not the biggest fan of gangster rap, or rap in general, so the lyrics are not something I was able to connect to. The beats he used were really good though and he a had a pretty good flow with them. Obviously Big Poppa was the stand out song to me, as it seems it is the same for many others.

Standouts: I Know It's Over, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out Overall a really chill album. I'm not too sure what the meanings behind some of the songs were as they did seem quite odd from the occasional glances I gave towards the lyrics. However, just listening to how it sounded, it was really pleasant. I think my favorite was "I know It's Over" and I will definitely listen to that song more.

Standouts: American Pie, Till Tomorrow Very big fan of the song American Pie. I think it tells a good story of the end of an era referencing "the day the music died". I had not heard any of the other songs in the album, but Till Tomorrow was another song that I enjoyed. The rest of the songs were fine lyrically, and I really enjoyed the overall sound of the album.
