That's The Way Of The World
Earth, Wind & Fire
Already know the most popular ew&f songs, but this album represented a similar vibe as what I expected and know from them
Very groovy, like bee gees and Bobby Caldwell a bit, smooth feeling and like the background to a "lovers at first sight catch each other's eyes from across the dance floor while dancing with different partners and through a slow motion sequence make their ways towards each other and their first words are just like hi or something equally stupid for no reason" kinda movie or track
Shorter starting track, but the 2nd, with the title of the album is a solid 5:45 length that doesn't feel too long
3- (happy feelin') different beat, but brings in the keyboard shortly with the sax to being a disco groovy vibe, interesting lines for sax, glock and xylophone or whatever, simple phrases for lyrics in equal ish groups, not super unique feeling though, not incredibly interesting, but a fun listen still
4- (all about love (first impression)) slow start with smooth talking vocals and piano, not really my vibe or interest honestly, slower and more purposeful feeling, interesting talk ending that feels like it could end a movie or a scene with lovers dancing slowly, linger track that was a bit hard to sit through for me, but was worth the listen, fade out into an electronic keyboard and synth sound
5- (yearnin' learnin') powerful start and opening, groovy, but a more car race kinda vibe than dancing
6- (reasons) slower, more dancy feeling again like bee gees, slow and high vocals, might be my favorite on the album so far, interesting flute like ending (seems a common theme with this album of very different endings than the rest of the song)
7- (africano) jazzy vibe, still very disco-y and lots of sax riffs ans solos, lyric less song that could also back a car race or some other version of a chase by foot or otherwise
8- (see the light) different vibe almost, also really like this one, more techno sounding with less trad? and mote thing keyboard and synth sounds, interesting hand drum sound in the back rather than rock heavy beats and drumming which i love, so this is not my favorite, bit still very good, love the end before the last bit end with voices and in a different language with laughing
Very 70s kinda sound maybe?
Disco- 1975 (mid of the era and decade)
Would give a 3.5 if possible, but can't, so a 3

Seventeen Seconds
The Cure
THE CURE !!
pretty cover
like the names of the songs within the album and it's pretty easy to connect to
1- almost spooky sounding with blocked chords
2- interesting shift to groovy after the first song
3- interesting vibes, tuned out a bit and nothing really caught my attention
4- love the sound, lyrics and all (though there are very few lyrics)
6- short and spooky (like 54 seconds ish, less than a minute for sure)
7- very little break between 5 and 6, no fade even, continues spooky vibe and scene, feels like lost in a dark mysterious forest throughout (called a forest), picks up beat eventually like running through the trees to escape something unknown but scary, space ish sounds, lyrics like would be over an intense scene with a girl running through the trees with flowing dress and scarves (like a winter get up kinda thing) and she keeps looking back, stumbling a bit, but keeps running and we never see the thing that scared her or is chasing her, lots of grey, white, and black colors, would likely be a black and white film kinda thing, a longer song, maybe the longest on the album at 5:54, just about 6 minutes
8- (M) similar guitar riffs and beats, feels a bit like running still and much more lyrical, starting off with lyrics and almost telling a story, like the slow down at the end
9- (at night) a bit of a more electric feel and silence between the songs, sounds like static, like the end of the movie or whatever and the bad is winning, kinda tuned out at the end, but very the cure feeling with vocals and sounds
10- (seventeen seconds), back to guitar and drums kinda vibe, slight beat pick up about a minute and a half through, softer sounding robert smith vocals, everything is quieter now and other lyrics feel like a bittersweet ending like the nightmare ended with a victory but with hard choices and lots of death at the end kind of feeling
"17 seconds a measure of life"
4 minutes exactly, I always wonder about lengths of songs, curious about this one too :/
Kinda ends how it started, but sadder rather than more urgent or adrenaline pumping, needed to sit for a bit after listening
shorter songs compared to other of their songs I think
very the cure sounding with vocals (thanks robert smith)
Short and spooky, short and sweet, would listen to again playing a spooky board game like betrayal at the house on the hill or whatever, maybe to do homework in winter or if it's a quieter day with some rain or showers, cloudy feel, not really for a sunny kind of day

Eliminator
ZZ Top
2.4, listened to it while cleaning and kinda brought an interesting high bpm kinda vibe to the function that i wasn't necessarily all for. It was good and I'm glad that I have listened to ZZ Top, but they really aren't all that for me on a day to day basis. I'm more into vibes and sounds in music than the aspect of rock that this album very well exemplifies. I can see how it is and was so influential, but none of the songs really stood out to me in particular unfortunately. I'll always like that one song I have saved in spotify though because of the memories it brings with my mother and the long walks we would have talking about music and food and everything in between (days). Would've given a 3, but based on how irregularly I would listen to it and how it just felt like generic rock to me without any extreme standouts, I went for 2.4 vs a 2.5 which would unfortunately round me to a 2/5.
