1001 Albums Summary

Fun. Sounds much more modern than the release date would otherwise indicate.

Very good. Instant classic from the first note. At first, didn't know much about the album or band, but then realized I recognized several of the songs.

Good overall. Feels like it could be the background soundtrack to someone’s life. “Fast Car” is obviously a high point, and the rest sort of fades into 90s obscurity to an extent. Not to sound too harsh, because it’s a very lovely album but fewer songs deeply moved me as I would’ve expected.

Started strong but generally disliked the latter half of the album. Early portion definitely feels like it influenced a lot of of late 2000-early 2010 alt bands, which was nice.

Solid but just not exactly my main groove. Some great songs while others were just okay

Honestly, not great. I just don’t get John Lennon. Boring musically and whiny lyrically.

Very good. Felt like an instant classic and immediately brought me back to some good old days of hip hop. Kanye West at his peak in production.
