Don't know anything about Janis Joplin at all. Starts off alright. Not a huge fan of pianos/organs in blues music. Not seeing much psychedelia in the music as I would want (from what I'd normally listen to that would be considered psychedelic). A lot of songs feel repetitive and nothing special or musically interesting. Half Moon has some nice solo parts and I like the music changes and riffs in the first half but I think the second half ruined it a bit. I don't like the janky feeling of a lot of the songs and makes me cringe a little bit (which I find in a lot of pop blues). There are quite a few little riffs on the guitar that sound good to me but the rest of the song spoils that (and blues is good for nice little riffs so not missing out on amazing riffs stuck in shit songs...[just not enjoying it much]). Me and Bobby McGee is significantly different to the rest of the album and has a big country feel. It's not bad but again not really my thing. Doesn't give me much hope for Janis Joplin because its her most popular song on spotify. Mercedes Benz is also very country but just crap to me. Not a fan of her singing style. Most of the songs felt too samey to stand out and be memorable. I think Half Moon is the best song on the album.
