I do enjoy the violent femmes - but I do also have trouble doing an entire album by them. I freakin’ love that “raw” sound that 80s punk and pop brought us. But this album as a whole probably won’t make the regular rotation
Listened to this one on a long drive after a long day and it was pretty perfect. The poetry was fantastic.
Here’s an album I haven’t heard since I was like … 15… trippy. Very …. Trippy
Easily one of my favorite female vocalists. Just a bucket of goose pimples on this one. … would be weird listening to this if you were her ex though … some uh… regret in there.
Wasn’t stoked about listening to a RS album start to finish, but it was actually pretty decent. Definitely a unique sound for 1966 and you can absolutely hear the influences in there on modern rock. … paint it black is a hell of an opener.
This album was not for me, unfortunately. Other than a few tracks, I found myself pretty bored listening to it. Lots of filler and drawn out songs.
This album was NOT for me. Even while driving around all day. The songs really bled into eachother and I found very little stood out to me as “interesting”. I guess it’s an “ambient” album so that’s kind of the point, but I just found myself bored. This album might have had a different feel in 1992 - but as far as modern ambient music goes, there is much more out there for me.
I told you it wasn’t just a phase 😉
Always been a very hit or miss band for me, personally… This album didn’t totally have me rockin’ out - but the talent is undeniable!
…. Yes Now we’re talking
