Tapestry
Carole King
Classic 70s funk and warmth.
Opening track is a definitive 70s timecapsule.
70s stuff like this feels like it still has freedom of form and singer song writer lyrical qualities. Not quite stream of consciousness, but clearly the message inspired the lyricism.
A pleasant, yet common voice that doesn't feel manufactured.
It makes sense why do many of these have covers.
So many iconic songs!

A few notable songs.
It feels early indie/punk.
It very virgin coded to me.
Definitely a raw sound
Not super my jam.

I love character albums, and this one is iconic.
When an artist really takes a stab at encapsulating a particular quality and it pays off, it pays off in dividends.
Listening to this album is like a time capsule, it takes me back to a time of psychedelic space race.
There were some really interesting songs on here that I never heard before, that never end up on greatest hits albums.
I think the only other artist that really encapsulates this feeling for me is Lady gaga. So many different character albums some of which don't pay off, but the ones that do. Iconic.

I don't have a lot of experience with these guys.
Super chill.
A pleasant blend of Hippy and Hipster.
Something to throw on in the evenings, but I can't see myself revisiting this album often.
Something like Bread or John Denver is similar but more my speed.

It's a bit outside my sphere honestly.
It's chill to listen to. Some funky beats.
I'm sure it's a classic rap album by all accounts.
Doesn't do much for me.
