1001 Albums Summary

I loved revisiting this! So much of what indie folk is today comes from this. I don’t think it has been done better by anyone expect for sufjan. This is perfect running in the woods and finding a picnic spot music and the lyrics don’t have rhyme to be good like the smiths. However knowing the albums that start in this list it’s an easy 7 but closer to a 6/10 so

I honestly really like this rap rock. I just got back into linkin park and rage was the precursor to that. The album cover also being so iconic and me not knowing much about it before a few months ago made this perfect to list to now! Nothing more to say enjoyable and influential

Nah still a 3 it’s catchy but I have and will hear better here

As a fellow instrumental head this is so cool and this guy apparently is praised by many. It all blended together for that hour but it’s definitely a 1 time listen. Which brings it down heavy to like a 2 for me I know I said it’s a 5 but I just can’t see a revisit but it’s beautiful how the piano speaks to itself so elegantly

I know the chain bass riff on guitar 5 stars

WOW PUNK AF AND HITS AT THE PERFECT TIME. This is my next obcession. I love the vocals and the riffs it drags towards the middle but thats okay it is short and iconic

Jack white kinda has a samey sound to me and this album has its ups and downs but I just cant find myself relistening to the whole thing. The singing voice is a mix of that 2000s punk and showtunes and it just does not sit well. I like songs like I think I smell a rat the instrumentation is what shines here and the iconic songs hold up but its the filler that does not sit with me

I love alot of the songs on here and they are hitting at the right time in my life but the wrong day. I think I can't go higher than 3 for any of these songs that are part of a compilation. Minus the American songbook which I know is on here. Also Franks cover of anything goes is bad sorry to say but the original is untouched

I love this but I need to give it another go tbh I liked most of it but it felt flat for a bit at the end

Janis joplin is really good and I have never heard her sing before this! Now yes I am trying to catch up and I will but Let me be behind I thrive that way

EASIEST 4.5 of my life genuinely an instant classic! I only know this guy from loneliest time with carly rae but HOW does he make this so soulful and beautiful while it still being singer songwriter vibes. The first track hooked me due to how it reminded me of Red Rock Riveria and I fell in love. The references to NYC just make me feel. The instrumentation and the rhythms. I wanna listen again!

Weekend wars enough said. This is an iconic album that ruined this band forever because the fans wanted the 4 first songs remade and yet they still prevail
