Brothers by The Black Keys
Sep 30 2024

First listen through Passive listening while cleaning Vibey. Songs definitely blend together. You can definitely tell they were written at the same time. Undecided if it's a good thing or not. Definitely nice to listen to as background though. Initial impression is 7.5 out of 10. During second listen, will be analyzing more musicality and lyrics

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Oct 10 2024

Sounds like a mashup of if you gave a middle schooler in jazz band a MIDI keyboard and a somewhat competent musician. Preface, I hate jazz. In listening to what this record for what it is, an instrumental jazz record, it's fine. Tracks one and three were bearable. I had heard chameleon before and it is what it is. There was some cool throwing in of South American rhythms and instruments here and there which was cool I suppose. From the viewpoint of an instrumental jazz record, I would maybe give this a seven out of 10. For my personal taste, three out of 10. I also definitely do not want to meet or be friends with the person who listens to this record often and on ironically likes it. This is the same type of person who probably thinks Jacob Collier is a god. That's all. Glad I got to listen to this record, but probably once is more than enough. Sorry, Herbie.

To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar
Oct 11 2024

I wasn't sure how it feel about this album going into it. When it comes to rap, there's a specific type that I like and Kendrick is usually not in that bubble, but this album exceeded my expectations honestly. I was expecting to have my review being along the lines of "I don't like it, but I respect it" but I genuinely enjoyed this listen. His lyricism and The smooth way in which she addresses tough subject matter is just flawless. To be honest, it takes a couple songs into the record to get what he is going for, but once it reaches track for or 5, it all starts to click and you can really just sit back and be immersed in the story he is trying to tell. Great lyricism, catchy instrumentals, addicting hooks. Just a great record that I would definitely listen to again. Definitely a nine out of 10

Disintegration by The Cure
Oct 14 2024

The only thing is that saved this album were love song and fascination Street. The instrumental tracks on this album we're not interesting enough to be purely instrumental. And just honestly kind of a chore of a listen.
