1001 Albums Summary

Intro track makes me feel like i'm driving a 69 Pontiac to a drug deal and i'm about to get shot up in a heroin deal gone wrong. Guitar work in Clap is super fucking solid. Great audio mixing on Perpetual Change. Overall it's a pretty tight album. I can tell there's some good musicianship and production put into it even if it's not something I would listen to on my own.

I don't think many of the songs come together as an album. The whole thing feels somewhat disjointed as a straight listen-through. It's actually a 2.5* but i'm dinging it mostly for personal taste.

Not as good as I remember it being when I first listened to it as a teenager. It's an album with some high highs and low lows. Really 3.5* but dinged a bit for lack of consistency

I was never a huge Neil Young fan, so i'm going to say it's alright.

As the quintessential American dad rock band, the Foo Fighters are one of those artists who have a lot of material and only 2 good albums. This isn't one of those albums. I had to stop 4 songs in to see if *those* 2 albums were any good. Yup. Everlong and Monkey Wrench still rip. So what gives?

I had to throw out Thundercat from a bar I worked at at SXSW 2023 for being way too drunk. Pissed as he was, he kept demanding me and asking me if I knew who he was. Of course I knew. So this album is 5* but it gets dinged by 1 because of that.

This album is the audial equivalent of getting farted in your face by a hipster who just walked out of 2003 who constantly goes in about "being born in the wrong generation" and how "no good music was made after 197X".
