1001 Albums Summary

my tldr review: these guys are FREAKY!!! my actually review: i think many people hate on these guys which put me off of them for a long time, but i had fun listening to this. i probably wouldn’t come back to it that often, if at all, but objectively i enjoyed it. maybe the campiest straight-person album i’ve listened to. the lyrics don’t make a whole lot of sense, but i think that’s sort of the point, and it’s not something i’ve ever been bothered by. all that being said, i wouldn’t rate it higher than like... a 3.5. it’s extremely long; you could easily remove at LEAST 6 songs and the listening experience wouldn’t be tampered with in the slightest. many songs blend together at points, which caused disengagement from me at certain points during the runtime.

this album was fine. it’s not really bad by any means. i was pleasantly surprised with how much i like certain songs, particularly bring it on down and supersonic. but, there’s simply just so many albums i would choose to listen to over this one any day. a few points are also deducted for the vocals; it’s not my style at all and takes away from my listening experience.

not terrible, but not my thing at all and not something i'd go out of my way to listen to. i don't have much to say about this album, i just didn't enjoy it all that much.

mixed feelings; some songs are fun, many songs overstay their welcome (which, despite being only a 43 minute long album, is more common than you’d think) but i think in the correct setting i could fuck with it. i just don’t dig the lyricism here at all, which usually doesn’t impact my listening experience, but i don’t resonate with any of it… i do the opposite of resonate actually lmao. i was going to rate it 3 early on but realistically it’s now a 2.5, and i will subtract that .5 since i reached a point where i wanted it to just end.
